Sine-Gate is an iPhone app that works as one browser for Spotify, SoundCloud and any other music site you add. Log in once, tap a tab, tap play. Everything the app plays runs through a built-in EQ before it reaches your headphones.
EQ chain: preamp → 10-band EQ (32 Hzā16 kHz) → 3-band dynamics (low / mid / high) → dynamic loudness → limiter → output.
Presets include one tuned for AirPods Max. Settings are shared across all tabs and kept between launches. Audio keeps playing with the screen locked.
Version 0.1 is a prototype. The EQ engine is tested and verified in a desktop browser. It has not yet been confirmed on a real iPhone. How each site behaves inside an iOS in-app browser is exactly what this first build is for.
| Site | Expected |
|---|---|
| SoundCloud | Should work (streams are readable by the EQ). |
| Spotify | Unknown. Spotify protects its audio with DRM, and iOS in-app browsers may not play it or may keep it away from the EQ. |
If a site plays but the audio can't reach the EQ, the app shows an orange Audio not reaching EQ bar so you always know whether the EQ is really on. A green EQ active bar means audio is flowing through it.
Apple only allows apps outside the App Store to be installed by sideloading (or in the EU, from an alternative marketplace). A website can't install a full app by itself.
EQ to shape the sound. The app targets iOS 16 and later, so it runs on iOS 26.6.2 and on newer versions when you can update.
